Attention all Crooksville Residents

The Crooksville Police Department would like to ask for your help in stopping the vehicle break-ins and the vandalism to the building in Crooksville. Over the last couple of months there has been a person or group of people getting into unlocked cars at night. We have patrolled the street night after night and have not found the suspects yet. We have also had several building broken into and also a business. I would just ask each citizen to do his/her part to help. Here are a few things that you could do to help.

1. Lock your car doors
2. Take any personal property you have out of your vehicles
3. Take the keys out of your vehicle.
4. Make sure if you have equipment in your vehicle (stereo, speakers, ect) you write down the make and serial number off the equipment. If you can try to take a picture of your property.
5. Make sure you lock your garage or out buildings at night.
6. Make sure your doors and windows are secure on your home.
7. If you can add a security light that comes on with any signs of movement
8. If you are having problems at night make sure you call the Police Department when the problem is going on not the next day.
9. Watch you neighbors home
10. Write down any suspicious vehicles in your area (Plate Number, color, type, ect,)

If you would like extra patrol in your neighborhood please come to the Crooksville Police Department and fill out an extra patrol request form. This lets the officers know where there may be possible trouble and it also lets you know an officer will be in your area. If you would like one of these forms please see Asst. Chief Joey Carr between 8:00am and 3:00pm at the Crooksville Police Department.

You may request a copy of the completed form at the time when the extra patrol request ends.

If you are going on vacation and would like extra patrol around your home or business please come to the station and fill out a form. You can also pick this form up when you return from your vacation.

If you are having trouble with traffic violators in your area you can come to the P.D. and fill out a radar request form and an officer will come in the area and run radar along with watching for other traffic violations. You may also pick up this form once the time period has ended.

I would like to thank everyone who fills out these forms because sometimes we do not know where the crimes are going on. Just remember we may not always be able to complete a request form on the days and times your asking due to the village only having one officer on per shift, but if we have these forms there is a better chance of us being where you need us when you need us.
